We are happy you are here.
How we got here... Well, it all started almost 30 years ago with a sign and two words: "Champion Waterfowl." Those words that Jesse was rewarded created a generational passion for showing Exhibition Waterfowl and Poultry. We all know how those darling feather friends seem to be the gateway to land and livestock ownership, and then the rest is history.
But first, let me try to make a long story short and fill you in on the in-between moments a little bit. Jesse was a country boy, and I was a subdivision girl. If you had told anyone then that I would be a Sustainable Living Practitioner, i.e., wearing boots and overalls covered in dirt, slobber, feed, and poop, baking sourdough and sandwich bread, making everything from scratch, growing a garden and canning/freezing garden goodies, raising animals, harvesting maple syrup, and making extracts and butter, they would laugh. But just like in the Hallmark movies, the high-maintenance city girl fell in love with the cute country boy. We built our first home in 2006, and we both realized how drawn we were to an older lifestyle of raising our own food, kids and living off the land. So we started simply by raising chickens, growing and canning our garden. While dreaming of that off-the-grid lifestyle, we fulfilled another dream: having a family. In the midst of raising our beautiful babies, God brought us new blessings, LAND in 2012 and in 2020. Finally, owning land meant that we could really pursue our dreams of a sustainable, self sufficient lifestyle.
From Sunday to Sunday, rain or shine, healthy or ill, we push forward to be able to live this dream. As first-generation ranchers, we have a deep appreciation for hard work and the importance of family.

Welcome to Bucking Duck Ranch!
Bringing Regenerative Agriculture to Your Kitchen
At Bucking Duck Ranch, we are dedicated to producing high-quality, delicious products through regenerative land management and humane animal husbandry practices. We pride ourselves on the animals we raise and the transparency with which we do so. Our livestock are all grown with the utmost care, attention to detail, and love, the way God intended. We are dedicated to sustainable farming practices that promote healthy soil, healthy animals, and healthy communities. Our regenerative farming approach allows us to produce the highest quality meat, and our no-till methods and rotational grazing practices ensure that the land remains healthy and able to sustain itself for generations to come.

Our family takes pride in the livestock we raise here on the ranch. Our cattle can be seen grazing the pastures or sun bathing, just chewing their cuds, happy as can be. Our heritage-bred hogs enjoy staying cool, rooting in the woods, and sprawling out in their custom-made mud baths. And our chickens, ducks, and turkeys are either busy foraging for seeds, bugs, and grasses or sun bathing in a sand bath while growing for your tables.
